August 10th, 2007 was officially declared 'Bill Blenko Day' in Milton, West Virginia and throughout the state.

The Mayor of Milton was on hand to speak and give a Bill nice plaque and she presented the Proclamation Letter from the Governor to Bill Blenko.

Again as in years past we had wonderful presentations about Blenko. There was also a heartfelt presentation of past and present employees honoring Bill Blenko by Jane Nickerson on his official day.

Deborah Allen & Tammy Kosla did a presentation about Bill Blenko and his life.

3/5ths of the Bayliss Design Team gave us an overview of how they designed the 3 new lines for 2007-08. The new lines are: Bravo!, Victoria & Strata.

Brent Aikman, the new Architectural Marketing manager talks about antique, architectural and tableware and how the 3 complement each other in helping the company succeed.

Richard Blenko & Gene Weekley do a small presentation on the future of Blenko.

Other presentations included: The fabulous Colors of Blenko display by Drema Wood. Dawn Weber's presentation of 'To Label or Not to Label'. The movie Batching Blenko by Barry DiLibero & a presentation by Randy Rider & Perry Bays called The Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Every year Blenko is extremely generous and gives us some glass to raffle off at the end of the sale. This year we didn't have just glass. We raffled off 1 lamp, 3 vases, 1 blowpipe with a paddle & an old mold with a paddle.

The Huston's managed to win 3 of the raffles.

Matt Belmont got the blowpipe

George Maddox won the Ruby lamp.

After the Saturday show, the Blenko Company throws us a reception at the Visitors Center. One of the big highlights of that party is that they raffle off opportunities to buy vases that were made by retired workers the day before.
